many of you ask....why the hell am i up at a time like this?

well, my answer is summed up in one word: Regatta.

yep, Head Of The Cape Fear today ladies and gentlemen. the course seems beautiful (i'm really excited) but i was alerted yesterday, thanks mom, that there are...apparently...alligators in the water near the USS North Carolina. if that's true, definitely pointing it out....

i cant wait! we have staggered starts so there's no one that close to us really. oh well.

see you guys sunday.

well, back from another...just regular day of school. hearing the girls giggling in the hall and McCall and Nick down the hallway "Fast as a Leopard!" in between 4th period and lunch, running in to katherine between 2nd and 3rd, and playing with dirt in APES with Robin, Iris, and Mark. fun stuff ne?

fencing after school was...interesting. we had the Animal Wall exercises today. where we had to...act like animals, really. bear crawl, crab walk, frog leap...what else...ah yes, the gorilla. it was quite interesting. Mica beat Mr Smith at the frog leap. (very entertaining and humiliating at the same time) and a bunch of the girls havent come again, its really not good. we dont even work -that- hard really. ok maybe for some people, then again at crew we work alot harder than fencing. but still, its fun! fencing really is. you all should try it.

aaaand...i got my hair dyed today. well, somewhat. got red highlights in it, looks pretty good if i do say so myself. and apparently i have long hair, huh. who knew. i was sitting there waiting for the color to set in and i was reading about the Russian Hostage situation that happened a few weeks ago. i still dont understand how people can bring themselves to do that, killing hundreds, or thousands, of innocent children and parents.

bah, off that subject. for the moment. cant wait for the new Legend of Zelda game to come out! yay! i'm excited about that. hopefully my brother wont lose this game.

oh yeah, last night i went to a concert at NCState. the womans name was Mariza and she's a Portuguese Fado singer. Fado is the Portuguese version, so to speak, of jazz and blues/soul. this woman...was just amazing. her presence, and the emotion in her voice was incredible. she was so energetic and very demanding, almost. like how some audiences are very demanding of their performer, but opposite. the show was great, she had two ovations and we wouldnt let her leave until after the second one. at one point in time, she took out the ear pieces and put the mic away and sang, she was almost exactly the same without the mic as she was with it. her tone, power, volume, all the same. my jaw dropped.

you dont see, or hear, many singers like that nowadays.

oy, long day today. scarily long.

anyways, re-rigged boats today so we can de-rig them on thursday...or friday. hopefully thursday.

our girls 8...really sucked today. BUT on the bright side, the guys fours looked really good. (the entire time, or almost the entire time, they were seat racing. it was quite impressive.) we've got strong guys this year. that's good.

now to work on the girls. (i know i'm not that strong, and i'm working on it too. yep.)

best quote of the day:

Sonja: -whispers to dianna- Joel has...cow...boxers...
Dianna: YES Joel has COW boxers!
Joel: Moo cow.

and after reading a rather...interesting McCall post, i'm quite curious as to what happened. (and yay. -sarcasm, i swear- JamesC is spreading his "goodness" and "intelligence" to McCall's blog. hurry McCall, save yourself.)

hopefully our girls 8 will shape up before this next regatta. and if we dont...we'll have to work harder. its simple.

So, anyone following the Mt. St Helen stories...? i've always found this type of thing interesting. i wonder if it will escalate past this 10,000 foot plume of steam and ash...apparently the magma levels have been rising as well.

heh, ok, off my little...strange interests.
